01. What is a Credit Card?
A Credit Card is a payment method with an assigned credit limit that provides the holder with an interest free grace period. This period varies according to the time between the purchase date and the date on which the purchase is charged to the relevant Cash Current Account. The transaction is paid for in the month following the purchase, on a previously established date.
02. Where can I use the Credit Card?
BFA Credit Cards are international cards linked to the VISA network and are accepted in over 200 countries throughout the World.
03. In which currencies can I make purchases with my credit cards?
BFA Credit Cards can be used to carry out transactions in any currency.
04. How can I cancel my card?
You can cancel your Credit Card by contacting the BFA cards hotline on +244 222 638 990, or the customer service at the Interbank Service Company (EMIS) calling +244 222 64 18 40 or +244 222 64 18 49, available 24 hours per day, or by visiting any BFA Branch.
05. What should I do if my VISA Credit Card is lost or misappropriated?
In case of loss or misappropriation, you should contact us immediately through our BFA Cards hotline on +244 222 638 990 or go to any BFA Branch.
06. What should I do if a Debit Card (Multicaixa) is lost or misappropriated?
In case of loss or misappropriation, you should contact us immediately through our BFA cards hotline on +244 222 638 990, or the customer service at the Interbank Service Company (EMIS) calling +244 222 64 18 40 or +244 222 64 18 49, available 24 hours per day, or by visiting any BFA Branch.
07. My Multicaixa Card is close to its expiration date, what should I do?
If you hold a personalized card, go to the Branch where you opened your account in order to obtain a new card. If your card is not personalized, you may go to any BFA Branch and obtain your new card immediately.
08. I do not wish my VISA card to be renewed. What should I do?
You should advise your intent at any Branch at least 60 days prior to the expiry date of the card.
09. I lost my Card PIN. What should I do?
A new PIN requires a new card to be issued. You should contact any BFA Branch in order to request the issuance of a new card.
10. When my card is renewed does it keep the same PIN?
Yes, when a card is renewed (Credit or Debit) the PIN remains unchanged.
11. My card is damaged. What should I do?
In these cases, you should request replacement of the relevant card (Debit or Credit) by submitting a formal request to any BFA Branch.
12. In which currencies transactions carried out abroad with the Credit Card will be charged?
Transactions are always debited in the currency of the account to order the card in question is associated.
